Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my car be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend a full service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Cars covering high mileage benefit from an interim service every 6 months. We’ll advise based on your vehicle’s age, mileage and manufacturer schedule.
Will servicing at an independent garage affect my warranty?
No. Under EU Block Exemption Regulations, you can have your car serviced at any qualified independent garage without invalidating the manufacturer warranty, provided we use the correct parts and fluids and follow the manufacturer’s schedule — which we do.
What is engine remapping and is it safe?
Remapping rewrites the software in your car’s engine control unit (ECU) to optimise fuel and ignition mapping. A correctly written remap stays within manufacturer tolerances and is safer than the off-the-shelf “more power” files some sites sell.
We provide before/after dyno graphs and the original map is stored so the change is fully reversible.
Do I need to declare a remap to my insurer?
Yes — any modification that changes the performance of the engine should be declared. We provide a full remap certificate to support this.
Do you fit a dash cam I’ve bought elsewhere?
Yes. We can professionally install dash cams supplied by you, although we’d always recommend buying through us so the warranty, fitting and ongoing support sit with one company.
